The latest collaboration between Watanabe and Vesmanen began when the house architect Watanabe built for himself in Tokyo needed a perfect sofa. The sharp, angular and steel shapes of the house, which gained fame for its architecture, required something round and soft for the furniture.
The final shape of the sofa, which has since been named Pilve, was born in the making. According to Vesmanen, the new design language was born from the fact that the sofa was designed as subjectively as possible - when the private one started to be molded into the sofa that will eventually be put into production, it was noticed that Pilvi was something completely new.
