Ahti Taskinen’s collaboration with Fasetti, which began with the Easy bed chair, continues with a new launch: The sturdy and sculptural RENTO was born, according to Taskinen, from the idea of sitting on a pile of logs. The stumpy cushion is soft and gently supportive for the sitter. Now re-issued, Rento, made at Faset’s Hollola workshops, was developed in collaboration with Ahti Taskinen. Originally made in pine, Rento has been made in an oak version at the request of the designer and Fasetti’s cabinet maker’s; oak was found to be more suitable for the structure of Rento during prototyping. At the same time, the Rento, which had been adapted for mass production, was given back its handcrafted character and wood joints. The new Rento is thus also better suited to today’s demands for durability.
